Before you head off to shop, the Baker’s Dozen has some more new samples to inspire you…a little bit of everything that’s new today.  I have always LOVED roses and rose stamps and I couldn’t wait to play with Rosy Posey!

I really went back to my {More is More} roots on this one and just kept doing “one more thing.”  Do you think it’s too much?  I don’t.  I love it!  *grin*  Let’s see if I can list out everything (or at least most of) what I did.

* I used the solid rose images (small and large) to stamp on white cardstock using the rock’n’roll technique with Regal Rose and Real Red ink.  So, I thoroughly inked the stamp with the Rose ink and then rolled the edges around in the red.  I love the effect it gave.  The small leaves were stamped the same way using Wild Wasabi and Garden Green.

* The flowers were then die cut with the new Rosy Posey Taylored Die set.  Sparkle was added with a glue pen and some Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

*The larger leaves were die cut from gray cardstock with the Leafy Branch Taylored die and then sponged with some Wasabi ink.

* The black circle was die cut with the new Layering Doily Die Large and pieces of a white paper doily were adhered behind it. Then the flowers and leaves were adhered, with the large rose popped up on foam dots.

* The Real Red card base is 5.25″ square and is layered with gray cardstock and then black (with distressed edges) and the Echo Park Yours Truly papers.

* The sentiment was stamped in the upper left corner with Tuxedo Memento ink.  After it was stamped I realized I should have embossed it (but I was too lazy), so I covered it with clear glaze pen and got much the same look.

*Embellishments include some red satin ribbon, pink Kaisercraft rhinestones, and Cream Viva Pearl Pen.

I think that’s it.  Boy was that ever FUN!  I can’t wait to play with this set some more!  And now let’s see what the Baker’s Dozen has cooked up:

Thanks for stopping by!  Happy shopping!

Welcome to Day 3 of the Taylored Expressions January Release Sneak Peeks.  Today we have 2 new full sized sets to show you along with 3 new A la Carte stamps.  Have you been wondering about the crazy characters on the little banner at the begiing of each of our posts?  Well those cute little guys are part of a new set from Emily Burger’s Embracing Grace line called Love Monsters.  Oh my goodness, this set is so much fun!  And we made sure that there are plenty of sentiments so you can play with it well beyond Valentine’s Day!

At first glance you might think the images are geared toward kids, but I thought it would make a great Valentine for my hubby.  With Valentine’s I struggle to find something masculine, but I think this set gives lots of options!

Is that hysterical or what??  The eye is covered with Moonlight Smooch so it’s pearly when you see it in person. I used the new Jumbo Heart Border Taylored Die on both the front and inside of the card.  I cut it out of Real Red and Taken With Teal cardstock and simpley reversed the hearts.

The A la Cartes being introduced today are 3 new images in the Animals in Love series that was introduced last year in the Whimsical Wishes collection by Nancy McKinney.  Here’s my favorite card created last year with the Scotties in Love.

This card used the Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 paper pad and the original Heart Border Taylored Die.  You can get this A la Carte stamp (or any of the 8 previously released Animals in Love stamps) FREE with the purchase of one of the 3 new Animals in Love!  How cool is that?  Buy one, get one FREE!  See Taylor’s blog for details!

Welcome to Day 2 of the January Sneak Peeks for Taylored Expressions.  Today we have 3 stamp sets to show you.  I’m particularly excited today because the set I’m peeking is my concept illustrated by Doug Applegate for the Apple Doodle Ink line.  When I saw Doug’s haunted house image back in September, I fell head over heals and immediately thought of a whole bunch of different adorable abodes that he could illustrate for us. (I’ve always had a “thing” for house images.  I have no idea why.)  I was thrilled when Taylor said she liked the idea and away we went!  Today we’re showing the first set in the series (yes, I said series *grin*), Love Shack.  This is a Mini Set – meaning it comes on a 4.75″ square storage panel and has 9 images/sentiments. I’m planning to start a Perpetual Ocassions Calendar with the series, but for now I started with a fun card.

I used Karen’s Sweet Sunday Sketch 149 with We R Memory Keepers Love Struck 6×6 pad for my card. I colored the image with Copics and covered some of it with glitter pens and the windows with clear glaze pen.  The “Love Shack” tab was created with Spellbinders Label One die.  I also finsihed off the inside.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Don’t forget to leave a comment if you want to be entered into the drawing.  Come on back tomorow for Day 3!

Happy New Year!  As this post goes up, the Rose Parade is beginning!  It’s odd not to have it on New Year’s Day, but I appreciate that the Rose Parade Committee keeps the promises made to the churches of Pasadena many years ago.  I’ve always loved the Rose Parade…well actually I love the floats while I really don’t care about the rest of it.  It is so amazing to see what those float designer come up with each year!

Speaking of designers and roses…it’s time to begin the Taylored Expressions sneak peeks for the upcoming January release.  Two of the sets being featured today just happen to be all about roses and I’m pretty sure you’re going to SWOON when you see them!  The set I used for my sample today is the new Rose Wreath Petite set (from the Whimsical Wishes collection by Nancy McKinney.) ACCCKKKKKKK!  My favorite wreath yet!  I mean…roses….beautiful roses…ahhhhhhhhhhhh!

I colored my wreath with Copics and covered the blooms with Clear Glaze Pen.  The wreath was die cut with the Seasonal Wreath Die.  And do you see that beautiful red lacy heart doily?  That’s a new Taylored Die that also has two layering companions – the Layering Doilies – available individually or as a set.  I’ve used the Medium one here (in red) and the black circle is from the Spellbinders Classic Circles large.

You’re probably thinking that I put my wreath on a card, but I decided to try something different and used the Magnetic Acrylic Base with a TE Mini Tear Off Calendar.  I seriously love how this simple little project turned out!  These Mini Tear Off Calendars will be on sale starting Thursday.  They were already at a great price, and now they will be a steal! You should really add some to your cart – they’re awesome!

The patterned paper is Echo Park Yours Truly.  The red and black cardstock layers and die cuts are all adhered to the patterned paper before it was slipped into the acrylic frame.  The Mini Tear Off Calendar and the wreath were adhered to the front of the frame.  The wreath is up on foam squares.  The wreath could have easily been inside the frame, but I liked the idea of it having some dimension.  If I had put it inside then the wreath could more easily be changed out seasonally, but this red and black matches my kitchen perfectly and I love the roses, so I think I’ll just stick with this.

And now let’s see what the Baker’s Dozen has cooked up!

Thanks for stopping by.  Although I avoided making any actual resolutions, I do have some goals and one of them is to overhaul my blog soon and get back to more regular blogging.  Wish me luck!

Goodness!  Is it really Wednesday already?  Last week we went to Austin TX to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary.  The first 3 days of the trip were great and we had a wonderful anniversary, but things started to go downhill the next day, Thursday, when I woke up not feeling very well.  I caught some sort of stomach flu bug or perhaps it was a mild food poisoning.  By Friday I was feeling really miserable as we had to check out of our beautiful hotel toom at noon and didn’t have a flight out until 5:00.  I was so thankful for the Lord’s grace to allow me to sleep pretty much the entire 3 hours home on the plane.  I spent the next 3 days on the couch and only yeterday beagn to feel like myself again.  So you see, I really can’t believe it’s Wednesday already!

We had a wonderful friend house sit for us while we were gone.  He took great care of the pups and the birds and he even sent us daily videos!  🙂  Here’s the card I left for him.  Made this card when I should have been packing and doing a million other things, but just wanted to stamp – so it’s a quick and easy one.  🙂

From Taylored Expressions, I combined Thankful (apple basket and sentiment) with some of Taylor’s brand new little flags and banners – Fly Your Flag 1 (stamps and dies).  I also used the Picket Fence Taylored Die, Take Note 1 Taylored Die, and Bronze Viva Pearl Pen.  Paper is Echo Park.

Now it’s time to start catching up on a few things around here.  I think laundry might be first on the list.  Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you have a great day!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow-American friends!

Trim the Tree Simple Cards

October 7th, 2011

Happy Friday!  It’s been a busy week around here and I’m looking forward to the weekend.  I have a couple quick cards to share with you this morning.  I mentioned earlier in the week that when I first picked up the TE Trim the Tree die, I just couldn’t stop playing with it.  I want to show you two of the first cards I made with it.

I pulled out a pad of SU Hostess designer paper to just test the die out with.  I ended up making several trees right away.  This one was mounted on a frame die cut from the Frame It Up 1 Taylored Die. I added some texture with a snowflake Cuttlebug folder.  I love the simplicity of this card.

For this second card I didn’t use any of the layers, but rather simply the entire tree die cut.  This time I layered onto the Take Note 3 Taylored Die.  Colors used here are Pear and Poppy with a little black.  Sentiment is from the new Banner Holidays set.  The curve of the sentiment is perfect.  I love the bold graphic look of this card!  It’s very different from my usual style.  This would easily be mass-producible and mail-able.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you have a fantastic weekend!
