Happy New Year!  As this post goes up, the Rose Parade is beginning!  It’s odd not to have it on New Year’s Day, but I appreciate that the Rose Parade Committee keeps the promises made to the churches of Pasadena many years ago.  I’ve always loved the Rose Parade…well actually I love the floats while I really don’t care about the rest of it.  It is so amazing to see what those float designer come up with each year!

Speaking of designers and roses…it’s time to begin the Taylored Expressions sneak peeks for the upcoming January release.  Two of the sets being featured today just happen to be all about roses and I’m pretty sure you’re going to SWOON when you see them!  The set I used for my sample today is the new Rose Wreath Petite set (from the Whimsical Wishes collection by Nancy McKinney.) ACCCKKKKKKK!  My favorite wreath yet!  I mean…roses….beautiful roses…ahhhhhhhhhhhh!

I colored my wreath with Copics and covered the blooms with Clear Glaze Pen.  The wreath was die cut with the Seasonal Wreath Die.  And do you see that beautiful red lacy heart doily?  That’s a new Taylored Die that also has two layering companions – the Layering Doilies – available individually or as a set.  I’ve used the Medium one here (in red) and the black circle is from the Spellbinders Classic Circles large.

You’re probably thinking that I put my wreath on a card, but I decided to try something different and used the Magnetic Acrylic Base with a TE Mini Tear Off Calendar.  I seriously love how this simple little project turned out!  These Mini Tear Off Calendars will be on sale starting Thursday.  They were already at a great price, and now they will be a steal! You should really add some to your cart – they’re awesome!

The patterned paper is Echo Park Yours Truly.  The red and black cardstock layers and die cuts are all adhered to the patterned paper before it was slipped into the acrylic frame.  The Mini Tear Off Calendar and the wreath were adhered to the front of the frame.  The wreath is up on foam squares.  The wreath could have easily been inside the frame, but I liked the idea of it having some dimension.  If I had put it inside then the wreath could more easily be changed out seasonally, but this red and black matches my kitchen perfectly and I love the roses, so I think I’ll just stick with this.

Taylored Dies I’ve used today:
