TESC121 Fifteen Minute Challenge

Happy Friday! The Rocket Scientist has every other Friday off now (more efficient use of resources/personell at the Rocket Factory), so this is a long weekend for us. I love this schedule! Of course Friday means it’s time for the Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge – TESC121.
For today’s card I challenged myself to create a card in 15 minutes using mostly supplies already out on my desk. I set the timer on my phone and when the alarm went off…I…ummmm….set it for another 15 minutes. And when it went off again…I….ummmmmm….turned it off and decided it was pointless! I am unable to make a card in 15 minutes – even with a sketch and Project Pantry supplies all in hand. The weird thing is that after 50 minutes spent on this card, it still looks like a 15 minute card! Oh brother! I love this stamp set and the kit I used…I just need to NOT be in a hurry when I’m stamping!
Stamp set is TE In the Park. Cardstock, paper, scalloped border sticker are all from the Summertime Project Pantry. Tree is colored with copics and I added some Flower Soft for fun texture. Bike was colored with Spica Glitter pens and Sakura glaze pens. The glitter and glaze pens are just perfect for the thin lines of the bike image and who wouldn’t want a sparkly bike?! LOL! Circles were cut with nesties.

I think your card is super cute! I love the Flower Soft on the tree! I did enjoy a little giggle picturing you in your stamp room with the timer buzzing! 🙂

LOL!!! You’re cracking me up with the timer thing! I can’t believe how long it takes to make a card. I figure you can rush art… that, and there are too many distractions. Plus I find myself pausing every now and then to stare and try to figure out what’s missing!
Your card turned out great, Jami… a great reward for time well spent!What a great idea to use Flower Soft on the tree. Looks like crepe myrtle!

Well done with your speedy stamping! Never would have guessed 15 minutes! I am such a SLOW crafter…lol! Love your summer scene Jami!

Thanks for sharing that you are “human” when it comes to stamping. I have never been able to do a “quick” card,(under 30 minutes!) and find it hard to imagine anyone being able to just whip one out. I have to think of the person I am giving it to and spend a great deal of time fitting it to the persons personality and occasion. It really is a cathartic process for me, and what I think makes it such an enjoyable hobby. If I am rushed for time, they never turn out well! LOL

No way that looks like a 15 minute card. It is beautiful and makes me feel like going for a ride in the countryside.

I’m right there with you, Jami! I can clean the whole house and water the garden in the time it takes me to make a card. Only rarely will I make a 15 minute card, and it LOOKS like a 15 minute card, and that would not include the inside and the envelope. Your’s, on the other hand, in no way resembles a 15 minute card. I mean, with the Flower Soft, the cutting of the circles, scallops, shapes, layers, the stamping, sponging, coloring — not a 15 minute card! What it is, though, is a perfectly darling card, and that is worth the time you spent on it. Curses to hurrying!
