More is More

No really…can they?  Can something as simple as socks make you happy?

As paper crafters I’m sure many of you share my tactile (touchy-feely) nature and are effected greatly by texture.  Today I wore the softest, comfiest socks ever and I swear they made me happy! 🙂  Perhaps it was the cooler weather that encouraged me to slip into jeans and a long sleeve “t” this morning that made me happy…or the fact that it’s the 1st of November which has always been one of my favorite months (we got married in November).  Or maybe it was my pink Converse tennies after months and months of only wearing sandals.  But honestly, several times today at work I became aware of my feet luxuriating in the softest socks ever and I felt happy!  Maybe I should run back to Penny’s tomorow and pick up a bunch more of those socks!

Speaking of soft and comfy, I love to hang around the house in flannel PJ bottoms and a t-shirt!  It’s better than sweat pants any day!  So…when I saw this Ronnie stamp “In My PJs” over at eclectic Paperie I just had to have it. 

Isn’t she so cute with her bunny slippers and cup o’ joe?  I had a bunch of scraps of SU Designer Prints Paper in Almost Amethyst out on my table from another project I had just completed (to be shared here soon) and I was inspired to do some paper piecing by my friend Jen who came over to stamp with me the other day.  Paper piecing is one of my favorite techniques and those scraps seemed just perfect for this.  Of course her bunny slippers had to be pink! (Would it surprise you if I told you I only wear pink slippers?) 

Another one of my favorite techniques is “simple tole” to make things on a card dimensional.  So I stamped her cup a second time, colored it and popped it up on some foam tape.  Then I covered it with Crystal Effects and added just a touch of cinnamon Stickles for the coffee.  I couldn’t seem to get a good picture of the whole card showing the dimension on the cup so I took a close up…

Anyway it’s way cooler IRL!  LOL!

I masked her feet and stamped a little celery rug using the Memory Box Mega Oval stamp.  The celery card base was stamped with the SU Paisley background in celery ink and then the little strips of amethyst designer paper were added.  The card was finished off with some pixie pink twill and Queen & Co. brads.

I don’t  have the sentiment that goes with this image yet (it’s on my next eP order), so I decided I will stamp the inside with my Karen Foster Snap stamps to read

“Hmmm…go to work or call in sick and stamp?”
