Happy Birthday Taylor!

June 12th, 2007

Tomorrow is my super early morning and I went out for coffee with friends tonight and forgot to order decaf – YIKES!  I hope I can sleep – I tend to be caffeine sensitive.  The past few days I’ve spent many hours cleaning and organizing in my stamp room.  So much of my stuff just didn’t have a *place to live* and therefore it has been impossible to just straighten up and put things away.  I have been determined to remedy that, and while I’ll probably never be completely finished, I am quite happy with the progress I have made.

I have several card ideas floating around in my head and I hope to spend at least a couple of hours tomorrow stamping.  We’ll see if I can pull myself away from the organzing projects I still have out long enough to make a stamping mess!  LOL!  Sometimes when my room is first cleaned up, I just want to sit and stare at it.  No matter what, it seems it never last for long!  I am a one woman stamping tornado!

I promised to share the card I made for Taylor’s birthday.  Happy 25th Birthday Taylor!!!  I hope you received this in the mail today!

Stamps: Baroque Motifs, Warmest Regards, Fine Lace

Cardstock:  Wild Wasabi, Pretty in Pink, Purely Pomegranate, Whisper White, Basic Grey Perhaps 6×6 pad

Ink:  Wild Wasabi, Purely Pomegranate, Pretty in Pink, White craft

Other:  White EP, SU Square Rhinestone Brads (Fire), white gel pen, piercer, clear crystals, pink velvet ribbon, SU Cutter Kit, foam tape

I went searching through my stash of designer papers to find one that would seem to coordinate with Baroque Motifs and give me a fun color combo.  The Basic Grey Perhaps 6×6 pad from eclectic Paperie had just what I was looking for!  And I was thrilled when I saw that it went so well with Wild Wasabi!  I’m loving this color combo of Wild Wasabi, Pretty in Pink and Purely Pomegranate.

The curve was cut using the SU Cutter Kit.  To get the matching curve on the 2 pieces I put them together and cut at the same time.  The PiP piece was 5.5” x 3.25 and the Perhaps piece was 5.5” x 2.75”.  I matched up one edge and cut the curve, then just slid up the Perhaps piece to match the straight edges.  I pierced holes along the edge and used a white gel pen to give more definition to the Pink layer.  The Baroque swirl was stamped in Wasabi ink both on the Wasabi card base and also on the Perhaps piece (stamped off first on the Perhaps).  Fine Lace was stamped in Pretty in Pink ink on the PiP square for a little texture. The flourish/flower thingy was popped up on foam tape.    Finishing touches are velvet ribbon from TexasJodyLynn, clear crystals and SU square pink rhinestone brads.

I’m looking forward to playing with this set some more!

Well it’s late and I had to type this up twice due to some cybersspace glitch.  I’m off to bed.  Thanks for stopping by!
